Today's pros and cons!
+ It's still May. I was afraid I'd wake up and we'd be back in January. Horrors!
-- I dropped my apple on the floor at lunch.
++ 5 second rule applied;; I still ate it. :-]
-- Matt and his lack of party invitation makes me extremely mad. He didn't even invite his own friends! (He claims to have run out of invitations, but we still haven't gotten one, so.) Makes me feel loved, right? Oh well. I forgive him for being a loser. I always do.
-- I didn't get the best score on my STAR tests in LA. But I know I'm not that dumb, and I got 12.9+ last time, so how could I get that much stupider? I don't recall any blows to the head. Wait...
Haha. Kidding. Oh well. My dad (who is also a teacher) told me once that it's impossible to judge your reading level on just vocabulary, if I recall that right. Anyway, I don't care about a dumb score. Which reminds me...I read a book about a little black girl who was in a segregated school in the 60s, and the principal was changing her grades to make her seem dumber, even though she was extremely smart. She said, "...but that didn't matter. I knew they couldn't change what was in my head." I don't know why I was reminded of that, but I like that quote.
++ After school, I walked home with Cailyn, Amy (duh), Lauren, and Mike, and was extremely hyper, especially when I saw the garbage in front of people's yards. (I don't know what they call it, but it's that time of the year when people through their junk--i.e, old chairs, record players, lamps, etc.--and put it on the front lawn near the road...and people can browse through and pick out trash they want, then the Borough will come and pick it up). So Cailyn and I went hunting for trash for our science projects for about 45 minutes;; we went all over my street and Cailyn found things for her project, including an old lampshade. (Someone had an old record player, which you'd think would be worth something someday, but they're throwing it out. I almost took it.) And I found a few things that I'm not sure if I'm gonna use yet. It was fun though!
Cailyn: Well thank you for coming with me Julie, you're the only friend that will ever hunt for garbage with me!!
Yours truly: Yes, I'm just a good friend that way.
-- I ripped my jeans. On the knee part. A lot.
++ Ripped jeans are "in," so I can still wear them and be "cool." (haha) And this also applies to the community I started. :-]
++ Our IA projects are turning out to actually be fun to make, even though I'm not the best with power tools. :-]
That's all, folks.
