So, Chris and I went to see Rufus Wainwright in concert last weekend and it was so amazing! I don't think I can begin to describe its amazing-ness. Its strange, seeing him live gave me a totally new perspective on his music- it was almost like listening to different songs. Like, when I'm listening to him on my Ipod, its more like a disembodied voice, or sometimes in my head I picture on older man who looks nothing like the real Rufus. But at the concert, seeing him perform, it was so completely different! He's a young guy, not much older than me, fairly attractive, and flamingly gay. I was kind of surprised, mainly because I never pictured a gay guy attached to that voice. But it was awesome! He is a wonderful performer and was funny and sang some stuff I'd never heard before, which was cool. He is such an Obie, its amazing. It made me really Oberlinsick. But yeah, he was fabulous. (The rest of Milan was pretty cool too, though we were really only there for about 36 hours and didn't really do much besides wander around. I don't feel like there's too much to do there...)

Today was our last field trip of the semester. We went to Cerveteri, which has an Etruscan Necropolis. I was kind of disappointed in their choice of last field trip, mainly because I don't think the Etruscan are _that_ interesting, but it turned out to be a really fun and relaxed trip. We wandered around the tumuli and clambered up into them and explored. It was fun. Then we went to some random little town that used to be a Roman camp and now has a castle built over it. However, the castle was closed, so we just walked around it and Claudio drilled us about Roman building techniques, in which subject we were sorely lacking. It was kind of amusing.

So yes. I will be coming home in three weeks from tomorrow. I have Vienna with Chris this weekend, then my parents coming in next weekend, then traveling around with them. It should be fun. I'll try and keep you all updated. :-P
