Breaking the fast: Day Four

Feb 05, 2009 22:43

I doubt I'm going to keep this up for eleven more days--writing about every one of my food habits. You've had enough too. I know it. You just had thirty days of me telling you what I juiced everyday. I'm doing very well so far on returning to solid foods. I've been plugging my food and exercise into my-calorie-counter.com, which is an online nutrition journal I've used for about a year on and off. It is so helpful. It really helps you to see how much protein you're getting and what types of fat you're getting into your diet, how many fruits and veggies, etc. It also calculates how much you burn exercising depending on the exercise and your weight. It even records sleeping and sitting, so you can literally plug in every hour of your day and every single thing you eat and get an idea of your daily nutrition. Its really useful. My biggest problem in the past was sugar and right now it seems to be well in the past.

This morning and afternoon I reintroduced a few things. I actually had a waffle. I thought it wasn't the wisest decision and its generally not something I plan to eat regularly anyway, but it was nice. I just had a plain waffle covered in about 30 fresh blackberries. I also had my tofu berry shake--recipe can be found on my recipe blog.

This afternoon... oh my goodness, I have a new love in my life. Veggie sushi is AMAZING. Seriously. I love it. There was some egg and some cream cheese in two of the pieces I had today, so it is the first time any dairy has entered my body in thirty-five days. So far, everything is fine. It was only a tiny bit, so I think that's a good way to start. I had soy sauce and wasabi horseradish with the sushi and I can feel the salt from it in my body and mouth. I don't like it. It is amazing what happens to your body when you stop having so much damn salt. We really don't need it guys. Raw food is so amazing. The Earth is giving and bountiful... and tasty.

All right, time for a run!

Love, love, love!

I just ran five miles. I feel amazing. It took me an hour, so it was twelve-minute miles, but that felt GREAT!
