So, today was supposed to be the first day back at school, and the schools are closed due to the fact that they never bothered to plow the parking lots. They don't call this place Albuquirky for nothing. Ken's coworkers have been coming up to him saying stuff like, "hey, bet this reminds you of New England, haha" (hubby's from CT). His response: "Um, not really, in New England they actually plow the roads." It's like life came to a standstill cause these people don't know what to do in this kind of weather. No common sense whatsoever. We haven't gotten to make our weekly visit to the used book store for a couple of weeks, maybe more (seems like forever). When we finally had time it was closed due to holidays and the weather. We haven't had mail in nearly a week, due to a combination of holidays, week-long dead presidents, and the weather ("neither rain nor sleet nor snow" my ass). Fortunately I took yesterday off because daycare was closed and work wasn't. And today because I have days I need to use, and if I don't take them early in the year I may never take them. Daycare is open today, and P wanted to go even though I was home because they were going to the indoor pool today, but they cancelled the pool so she decided to hang out with me. Thanks to Santa she's got earphones for her gameboy, so she can come with me to my first weight watchers meeting of the year (made yummy choc cake for hubbys bday yesterday-so this weigh-in's not going to be pretty after that and all the xmas goodies). And she can help me take down the xmas stuff and put it away. So today is pretty much spoken for. And hubby asked if we could try to go to the bookstore after he comes home from work today. Poor guy, he's going through bookstore withdrawal too.:P At least I can knit on my "stashgan" at my ww mtg.
