Off the wagon again
Um, I guess you could say that my self-imposed yarn purchasing embargo is over... I was at dollartree today and they had Lion Incredible Ribbon Tape yarn... and lots of it.... I saw a cool summer tank and also a cool airy wrap made with it before, and have been wanting to give it a try, but not at full price since I didn't know if I'd like it or not. But for $1 a ball... I bought 8 balls each of three different colorways. What? If I like it I have to make sure I have enough for a tank top or shawl... if I don't, I only paid a buck per ball and maybe can trade or something or sell at a garage sale... or donate to charity if all else fails... hell I can use it to wrap gifts such as hand knitted washcloths and soap or something... Seriously, I DON'T have a problem *twitches*
Anyway I knitted a swatch in garter and stockinette... it's kinda cool, I think I'll keep it...

LIKE WHEN YOU GET FREE TIX TO BOB DYLAN!!!!!! SCORE!
The morning DJ for our classic hits station came into my office a few days ago and said, "Um, by any chance do you own any live Dylan recordings?"
"Sit down my son, you've come to the right place..." I say, rubbing my hands together...*muwahaha*
Turns out they needed some of his hits performed live for some pre-concert promotion or special program they're doing. So I tell him I'll have K record some of our best-quality live recordings onto a cd (and note when and were they were recorded) so he has some to choose from. "Oh, you still wanting tix for the show?", he asks in an offhand manner. "Um, yeah" I say, acting casual. "Ok, I'll tell ** to see what we have for staff and clients and set aside a pair for you." The next day ** walked into my office and says, "I didn't know you were a Dylan fan... here's your tix, just sign this request form and I'll have the bug guy sign off on it." I sign away, take the tix, and as soon as he leaves my office and shuts the door I let out a nice big loud "SQUEE!!!!!", and jump up and down several times.
Yes, sometimes, I actually LIKE my job. *giant sh*t-eating grin*
