Just felt like posting 'cause I haven't in almost a week. Not too much going on other than the usual, work , blech! This Wednesday is time for another knit-nite with the girls at Flying Star downtown. I don't have any knitting projects going at the moment other than Ken's blanket, but I don't want to take that since it's so big, so I'll have to start something new. I'll probably just do another washcloth. I'm thinking of tying some hand-knit washcloths to sets of scented soaps with ribbon to sell as mothers' day gifts at the rummage sale at Mom's church next month, so I could start on some of those.
EDIT - Knitnite's still on, but I've decided to stay home. Made BIG headway in the craftroom last nite and don't want to quit while I'm on a roll! (Seriously thought about calling in sick today but decided against it - wish I had -LOL)
Had to put the car in the shop today cause my brakes were squeaking, ended up needing new brake shoes and pads, so that wasn't cheap, but better that than not be able to stop the car when I need to.
EDIT - Car back at Midas today as Check Engine light came back on during my emissions test! Needless to say due to the light I failed AGAIN. hope I get it back today. I feel really trapped here. Walls starting to close in... ack!
Decided today that I am not coming back to work after my 12:30 dental appt tomorrow. I asked HR and they said that since I'm exempt from overtime, and we can't take half-days off, either as sick or vacation, I don't even have to turn in a leave form as long as I show up at work for at least an hour tomorrow. That's pretty cool, I didn't know that.
EDIT - more exciting news, have to go back for a root canal next week, joy of joys. After that a crown and a couple of fillings. Which is why you should never go 5-8 years without a cleaning and checkup boys and girls. ;D
Um, what else.... Crafts - drew (and cut out) my vellum pattern pieces for the big item in my creature swap for HP crafters (yahoo), but haven't cut out the fabric and sewn it yet. Also made a couple of the smaller creatures, but I still have to add eyes to those. Still have one more pattern to draw and cut out, but it's simpler. Meant to work on them tonight, but didn't get home from work (blech) until after 7pm, so I'll have to work on it tomorrow night. I'll try to get it cut out and sewn and stuffed tomorrow so all I have left is finishing so I can ship by Thurs, which I think is the deadline. At least I should be home early tomorrow, which should give me plenty of time. Also on the crafting front, bought a bunch of serger thread in pretty colors at Joann's this weekend, so I'm prepared should I get a whim to reconstruct a tshirt or something. I'll already have many great colors on hand. Also bought a bottle each of dark green and kelly green in RIT dye for some tiedying for my PR house "uniform/robes". Still need to get started on my masquerade outfit and mask, but need to finish the creature swap first. Plan to devote all crafting time to PR costumes/craftswaps by the end of this month.
EDIT - I so kicked butt in the craft room last night! Ken got the old desk out of there(that I had my sewing machine on), my other table up and the two 6ft tables are now in an L in the corner. Of course, now they are covered in all the stuff I have to find a place for, but that's what tonite is for, right? ;D
Had a job interview Friday, and I think it went well. The job has changed since they originally posted it, as the man that referred me resigned last week, so they decided to combine the two jobs and reassign some of the duties to other positions. So it might actually pay better than originally thought it would be, which could cause a little more of a dilemma, as I may have to decide between staying put and keeping my seniority, vacation, insurance, etc, but making less money, or changing to this new job (that includes free cable). Choices are good, I like choices. This is certainly better than having to look while already out of work, that's for sure.
Disappointing EDIT - heard from manager with whom I interviewed, I am no longer in the running for the position. Thanked him for being courteous enough to call me and let me know, and told him to keep me in mind for something else that might come up. *sigh*
I'm falling asleep as I type this, so I need to hit the sack. It is nearly 10pm after all. LOL I stayed up late reading last night. I finished re-reading POA yesterday and started re-reading GOF when I went to bad last night. Hubby says, "I'm losing you to Harry Potter, aren't I?" I said, Of course not, you just have to share me. ;D
