Life is pretty good lately. I finished my internship on Friday and I go back to school on Monday which is weird. I kind of learned my lines for our senior play today so that's good. Oh, Ian Carr called me today (only Ben will care about this, but, yeah, hey Ben). I didn't answer the phone because I haven't talked to him in a really long time and I was at a restaurant. He left me a message saying that he would call me back because he doubted I would call him. But I am going to call him back. I was thinking a while back about him and how we haven't hung out in forever.
Anyways, tonight I watched this movie with Dilys called "One Day Without a Mexican" it should really be "One Day Without Mexicans" as the sapnish is "Un Dia Sin Mejicanos." It was alright. It was pretty funny, but most of it just seemed like a lot of propaganda. Some of the "facts" presented in it were extremely questionable. Like "There are forty countries south of the border." What? There are 13 in South America 7 in Central America and Mexico. I'm pretty sure there aren't 19 countries in the Carribean and are commonwealths being counted as countries here? More importantly, where the heck are the boundaries of "south of the border?" As far as I can see we only know one of them. I mean damn if you go far enough south of the border and just keep going south, canada is fucking south of the border too. Another "fact" was that Jose is the most common name for male children in California. Wikipedia says something different in their article about the movie, which talks about its "facts" as well. Here is a link to the wikipedia article:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/A_Day_Without_A_Mexican. If you want to see the movie, you should see it before reading the wikipedia article. The movie, which was made in 2004, is still interesting to watch especially with immigration as a hot topic right now. I would maybe recommend it, but definitely I would recommend taking it with a grain of salt.
Okay, well I'm tired. Tomorrow I have to go prom dress shopping. I had a dress that I was thinking I might wear, but I just decided that I really don't want to wear it because it isn't very comfortable. unfortunately that means that I have to go prom dress shopping tomorrow. Then I have to get shoes too and I have to make sure they won't make me taller than my date. Now I remember why I didn't go to prom last year.
