The Twelve Days are Here Again!

Well, I am a little late in starting this round of holiday updates, but I have been busy, so please forgive me.

Tuesday began the first day of "The Twelve Days of Christmas". This year will not rhyme like last year did, because well rhyming is tough. This year however, has already lived up to any expectation I could have had. It is still filled with the same love and fun as before. And this year I've come to realize just how much of Christmas is about "the feeling" more than anything else. More than how many cookies you made, or how many presents you bought, or how many decorations are around your house, Christmas is about the feeling. The feeling you get when you lay on the floor in front of the fireplace watching "It's a Wonderful Life" with the person you're going to spend the rest of your life with. The feeling you get from decorating a tree while drinking hot chocolate. The feeling you get when you listen to Christmas music played by a bunch of high school kids as you sit there tapping your foot and singing the words in your head.

And one moment that I already remember so clearly about this Christmas was the moment I spent sitting on Steve's lap giving him a hug. Not only was I giving a huge hug filled with love and happiness, I was receiving a hug that felt so warm and safe. I'm telling you, if I could have stayed in the one moment forever, I could have died happy. LoL

Anyways, the first day of Christmas brought a new ornament for the Christmas tree. It matches last years in that it has two snowmen in a mitten and it says, "Another Christmas Together, Julie and Steve, 2006". It's really really cute.

The second day brought a Christmas trivia game and an evening listening to Christmas music. Steve took me out to General McLane where he is student teaching to meet some of his students and hear them play in the band. That was a lot of fun. I felt like a celebrity by association.

Yesterday was the third day and it was just as awesome. Steve showed up with a pretty big box all wrapped in sparkly Christmas paper. When he finally got around to letting me unwrap it, it was a snow globe. There's a girl sitting in a sleigh and a boy standing next to it. This all came from watching The Santa Clause 3, in which they talk about snow globes. And he knew how magical I thought they were and that I didn't ahve one. So he got me one. Another amazing moment together, I can't even begin to explain it all.

So, with the semester finishing up and Christmas quickly on its way, I'd have to say things are looking up in the world. And I couldn't be happier!
