Thank you for sharing your memories, everyone. :) Besides just wanting to experience some nostalgia, I did have a reason for asking that: I'm a grad student studying design, and doing my master's thesis on JET and reverse culture shock (American JET alumni might have gotten an e-mail about a survey in Aug/Sep. from your JET coordinator--if so, that's mine). Our thesis poster session is next week and I was looking for ideas for memory-oriented images to incorporate. This was a huge help with that!
