So, maybe I'm jumping the gun a little, as I could get an email any minute saying that my application has been properly received the deadline is today and I really should give it about a week for my snail mail confirmation letter to arrive.
But I'm nervous about it. I looked at the JET website, and it explicitly says *not* to email them or call them to ask if they've received it, and that an email will come in due time to say that it's been received.
Here's my concern, however. I had some last minute unforeseen issues with getting everything together into one package (don't they realize how difficult that is!?). Namely, (a) as of last Friday, my recommender in Japan still hadn't written the letter, (b) my school in London also had not sent out my transcripts yet, and (c) I was away all weekend and was not present at home to receive anything on Friday, Saturday, or Monday to insert it and ship it out overnight or whatever.
Long story short, one of my rec letters, and the transcript copies from one of my schools, were sent independently and should have arrived on time, today or yesterday. My application package, with everything else properly collated and filled out and signed and included, also should have arrived on time yesterday or even earlier (I sent it out Express Mail last Thursday).
Getting to the point, how do I know whether the JET offices have simply thrown my entire application in the garbage, or whether they've recognized how difficult it is to get things from a half dozen different sources, and that whether these people send things to me on time is out of my hands, and thus bent their rules a little and accepted it for processing/consideration?
