Delirious Days

Mar 07, 2006 16:46

Last night I went to bed, rather late, but feeling fine and woke up this morning feeling really fucked up. My sleep had been dominated by delirious dreams, that completely defied the normal dream logic, plus they were a lot more vivid than usual. I woke up just before my alarm went of at 9am and it felt like I had the flu. I had a headache, my bones ached and I felt slightly nauseous, but unusually my nose and sinuses were perfectly clear. So I went back to bed after a glass of water. All morning I had more delirious dreams, ranging from being in a mental institution to Gulliver’s travels (I was a giant in Lilliput) to hot summer days in Mabou, during Easter. I wasn’t sure if I was awake or asleep, but at 12:30 I got up feeling slightly better. I went for lunch and a cup of tea along with a long craved glass of 7-Up made me feel much better. Saying that I thought I had the flu at lunch is a surefire way to get people to reconsider their sitting arrangement.

I still feel somewhat ill, but that’s a lot better than writhing around on my bed in deliria. I just can’t figure out what this 8-hour bout of sickness is. I hope this sickness doesn’t continue until tomorrow.
