Anybody know this date? I do. It's the day that the Stonewall Inn was raided, and what resulted in (what is debateably considered) the start of the Gay Rights Movement.

I found an interesting blog entry on QueerSighted, the Lesbian and Gay community of AIM. There were some pretty good pictures, and some history of Christopher Street where the Inn is located. It was basically like a walk through of all the famous buildings, shops, and other related areas.

If you happen to check it out, make sure to read the author's notes about the different pictures.

Christopher and Gay St.

If I ever make it to New York City that will definitely be one of my first stops, especially since the Christopher St pier has a good view of the statue of liberty. I'm sure it would inspire a tearful mix of national and gay pride.

Anyways I've got much things today... so...

stonewall, christopher street, new york city, gay pride
