Every time I go to buy a new bit of bike kit, the stuff available is newer and has more special little gimmicks.
At the moment I cannot find my favorite cable lock. I'm sure it is buried under the pile of rubble which is our spare room. Anyway I have to leave my bike in the mall for half an hour or so tonight while I got see my chiropractor to straighten out the damage Bender did to my neck on Tuesday night when we walked him to the park after he had been inside asleep all day. So I decided that I should buy a U-lock. I have been meaning to get one for ages anyway for added security if I have to leave my bike outside the bike cage one day because it is getting so insanely full. I may have to start riding Nic's $50 mountain bike to work so that I don't have to worry about it.
There was a choice of 3 U-locks at the bike shop near the train station. I randomly picked the one with the extra cable so that I can at least partially protect my wheels from going walking. When I get it to the office I find it comes with 6 laser cut keys, one of which has an LED light so that I can shine it while looking for the keyhole in the dark. Bonus. The thing weighs half a tonne but hopefully offers a tad more security than just a cable. It can probably be destroyed with power tools but not much else.
Had enough of being here though, just want to go home and map out the backyard for cat park/shed, and break into the storeroom since the agent who sold us the house swears black and blue that we have the key. I don't care anymore. I need my damn bike pump.
