So the wedding is over and done with. I am going to get a hair cut at 3.45pm today and then it's home to nab the car and drive to footy again. The trains aren't going to be back to normal until after the end of the footy season.
I think that brides all over the place should learn something - if they want to be the centre of attention, don't choose a Maid of Honour from your groom's family! The whole reception was full of people talking about me. I think Matt was happy because it took a bit of the spotlight off him. The only thing people talked about was how he didn't smile in any of the photos. He looked like he was about to be shipped off to Iraq or something. Lucky he had his older sister to play up to the crowds. Hahahah~!
Nic arrived at the church looking a little lost, I think but mum and dad ushered her onto the bench on our side of the family. I think she appreciated that alot. Apparently Matt was so nervous he was saying he forgot what to do when, and Steph had to prompt him a little.
Pretty much everything was top notch and Steph did a remarkable job organising everything. The best man, Shaun, was really good as well, running around like a headless chook all day to get errands done. The limo that she hired for us to cruise around in was pretty awesome - t'was a two-toned Chrysler super stretch. Being in Port Kennedy we were getting a lot of goggling eyes in our direction as we cruised around. After we went off to the park for photos, Shaun, Matt and Steph all needed to pee badly, and so Steph instructed the limo driver to pull up in the servo on that big round about near the freeway entry and Safety Bay Rd. The limo managed to just squeeze in to a bit of the driveway that said 'no parking' and the wedding party proceeded to run into HJs to use the toilet. All the little kids who had just come from the derby and were wearing their eagles/dockers kit were oggling us. A bunch of blokes drinking stubbies around their 4x4 also had a good gawk. Shaun was the only person with a camera and I was telling him to try and get pics of the googlers but I think he was a bit embarrassed about snapping shots of randoms.
I got pretty drunk by the end of the night. I didn't have room to eat any wedding cake because I felt like my dress would explode. Fortunately Nic has befriended Nick & Amy (steph's mates) and got a lift back to Rocko for us. They were driving back to South Perth. Poor buggers.
At the BBQ the next day, Nic and I hung out with the blokes who wanted to watch the Essendon vs Tigers game. We kicked the footy out the front of the house at half time because I didn't want any of the kids out the back to kick it over the fence. I was definately a bit sweaty and hung over. Steph was like 'do you feel better now you've done some exercise'... I was like ... hmm... I missed a whole game of footy.... our warm ups are even more intense than that.... but I didn't say anything.
In other news...
I won a pair of ASICs walking shoes through the GCC - it was a randomly selected prize and I am watching the letterbox like a hawk for the voucher ($180 worth). I have a $20 voucher to spend at Powerplay and $10 at Hiway cycles. I should get to spending them!
