I'm learning eye of the tiger on the harmonica. At the moment I have Row, Row, Row your boat, Baa, Baa Black Sheep and Twinkle Twinkle Little Star down pat so I thought it was time for some adult songs.
Was a busy weekend for my Cert IV - I spent most of Saturday at Oasis, from 8.30 to 1pm at a Cert I coaching course (for the Active Afterschool Communities program), and then went up to the appraisal room and participated in a bike test for Kelli. I got home and Nic was out and about so I did a bit of tinkering on my
my website , adding the two caricatures that Felix did, answering a question a guy emailed me about what to wear for underwear while cycling, and some links to some good cycling books on
Fishpond.
This morning I went back to Oasis at 9.15 with Nic in tow, and I did a fitness appraisal for her. The results were pretty consistent with the goals Nic had already set for herself. We were there about an hour and then rode home, and took Bender out to the park to play. There was a cute Dobermann x Ridgeback pup there - poor thing had been attacked by a couple of pitbulls but it had gotten away with just a bite on it's back. Anyway the owner was wary of Bender at first but realised they were friendly straight away. I told him Bender had been bitten too so it was good for him to get some positive dog experiences. The other dog had a Kong as well so they had fun racing each other to the same Kong. There were a few collisions, mostly Bender's fault, but the other dog is probably going to be twice bender's size when he grows up - wonder if we will meet him again. Chance joined us after the ridgebackXdoby left but she wasn't feeling that well and had a puke in the middle of the park. Esther picked it up in a plastic bag like a good responsible dog owner.
We walked around and around and then Esther suggested we go for coffee, so we dropped our respective dogs off home and went back to the Blue Monkey. Service was pretty slow but the food was still good and Esther was impressed with the coffee. It was good to catch up so we decided that we would catch up on the Sunday of her days off. We came home and did housework, I practiced some harmonica and watched the last half of the Dockers vs Essendon (another close loss, but a loss nonetheless). A positive in the game though was that even though the Dockers had 3 players who were so badly injured they couldn't come back on (so they had one substitute player), they were playing with a passion and a commitment at the ball. Positive signs.
Another positive sign is that I'm almost finished my Cert III - I don't need to go to a gym and watch trainers do assessments, I've done enough of my own! Now I just need my file back from Nina.
