Articles like this are most of the reason I'm become the next best thing to straight on fatalistic. As much as I spout about fighting and battling, the momentum of history is way too strong to be fought, and unless I spend every single waking moment of my life actively fighting against the demolition of the good parts of government, I will never able to do enough.
Then, when the president goes killing citizens like me and imprisoning them without question, it makes me wonder whether there's anything worth saving. It might almost be for the best if the world burns and collapses to the ground. Two hundred years leading up to a massive series of heat waves is doing a damn good time of that by itself.
There are times when I wonder why I ever bothered to read Daily Kos, but I am glad I have no more foolish delusions.
How starved is the government beast? Take a look.
