Pride

Well another year has gone by so fast it makes my head spin. We had a great time at pride this year. The temperature was right and it was so damn cold this time. I remembered sun screen this time too so I'm not all burnt! Yay! :P The thing I notice most about pride is the extreme culture shock you get afterwards. You don't notice it right away. On your way little by little more rainbows show up until you're in a HUGE crowd. Everywhere you look there are boys holding hands and girls kissing each other... and it just feels NORMAL... It's a nice feeling- normal that is. But you don't quite realize you're feeling that way until you leave. We stopped at a restauarant on the way home and then you have to try and remember the stuff you took for granted before- the waitress probably doesn't want you checking her out. That family over there might not think your rainbows are cool. When Ceara and Jamie kiss it just might draw stares... Pride is wonderful to me because it remidns us that we're not alone while living amongst a population of straight people. I'll be looking forward to next years parade now :)

In other news I joined a Sacramento group for lesbians and hopefully I'll make a few more friends. We met up one night already at Joe's Crab Shack in old sac. I had a lot of fun. There was a really pretty red head there named Jana... could it be, I actually am getting crushes again? Maybe I'm finally getting over what's her name :P I have been hanging out with my coworkers a lot too and a few of them look like they're going to be great friends. My friend Heather and my Friend Jessica indipendant of each other but around the same time had me listen to a band they like called Flogging Molly and now I'm totally hooked. Rock music (or punk as Jessica says but I must confess my ignorance as to the differance) plus Irish accents equals kick ass music! Not much else to report. I've been at work long enough to get hired permantenly now and so I just have to get through the 90 days probation to start getting benefits. Wohoo! I forget if I've already mentioned in an earlier entry or not but they made me employee of the month! At this moment, life is good :)
