Rambling of a house bound soidier.
I decided to go through all my friends archives..... Wow. I wish I had been on here long enough that I knew all that stuff when it happened. Then when I want to comment it's not completely random on something that's at least 2 years old. I also went onto the Critique section of DoA and was looking at all the first face up threads. There are some really good up and coming artists on there. I wish I had thought about posting there for my first faceup. Although I have to say, I think I started off pretty good. My first face had freckles and I was really proud of it. I do have to thank my friend iSparrow on DoA for that. I did it at her house using some of her materials and she was so awesome to show me some of the little tricks she learned. She also did one at the same time, so I could see how it went first. Actually, here's a copy of the picture:
I've since repainted her two times and sold her. She was the first doll I got. I think my painting skills have improved as seen in this thread. My first set of lashes was on Autumn, that picture is further down in the posts. I want to open up a commissions thread, but I really don't think I should until I finish all my training and will be at the house. I actually started into dolls because I thought I could get them to pay for themselves with commissions, but I was thinking along the lines of clothing. Not much luck in that area, my first set failed because I didn't even have a doll to measure by. So I decided to grow my collection, so that I had some dolls to work with. Now I'm totally addicted and I still fail a little at the clothes. I think I just need a little more practice. Of course now the obsession hit upon the fact that next to no MSD sized dolls have special parts. I have a Soom Glati, and I can't seem to bond to him because he's too small. I don't want to sell him until I can get a replacement, but I can't find an MSD with hooves that I like. Then the brilliant idea! I'll make some! So I decided to start with paws. I know at least two people that might want them, and the idea was to sell them to make my hooves. Great plan... Anyway, I'm gonna go work on profiles for my new guys!
