I was in Wicker Park (land of the hipsters) about 1:30 AM in 2007 or so, awaiting a Blue line el train after having left a co-workers house party at her new apartment. one of my co-workers just came back from her first trip to Puerto Rico. She was telling me how beautiful it was and how she stayed in a gated community where the people she was staying with lived. I believe I absolutely love my new neighborhood. It's far enough away that it puts me into a feeling of "foreign," allowing me to discover the area on my own (something else I love).
