Stargate Creation Con (NJ) update and musings...

Sep 20, 2007 11:51

Just found out that Kate Hewlett will be attending the con on Sunday to promote her new play.  It would be cool if David could make it too but just seeing her would be good too.  I wonder how many more guests they are going to add (since this is supposed to be the last con in this area... although

I always thought MS would be a nice guy, but you make it sound like he isn't.

That would be a really good question. I think you should ask it. It's a friendship question and not a 'shippy' question. If I was going I'd ask for you (and me. and SD shippers everywhere), but I cant afford to. ::pouts::

Seems like a lot of people are jumping on the Vaniel bandwagon. I wonder how many of those people actually like DV or are just conforming to conform.

And I don't think you think too much. 'Cause if you do, than I do and I don't think I think too much. (Though others may disagree...)

Well he was the first time I saw him at a con, but then I keep thinking about what he said circa S9 in some magazine article. He said something about it being such a treat to have CB working with them, and how it was sort of a drag when AT came back and they had to get back into another routine. I guess it could've been a harmless comment, but I thought it was a bit mean when I read it ( ... )

I read some articles way back in S9 and I never got that impression from MS. I think it's obvious that MS has a bit of a crush on CB because hse is so spunky and charismatic. (I like CB, myself). And I think he was having a lot of fun on the set with her. Cb made her exit as AT came back, though, so it's easy to equate AT=no fun and CB=fun even if that's not true. And I can't see that being true because AT, MS, and CJ are extremely close.

And it's hard but you have to ignore the real hard Vala and Daniel/Vala diehards (the crazy ones anyway). I have reasons for disliking a few but I won't get into that on LJ ;)

Yeah, when you put it that way I guess it makes some sense. From all I've heard he does seem to be very close to her and CJ. I remember reading somewhere that on the last day of filming the three of them went into the briefing room and looked out at the Stargate, just the three of them sharing a quiet moment. I thought that was nice.

Yeah I am trying hard to ignore them. They definitely don't represent all of the D/V and Vala diehards. I know some who are very polite and tolerant of other views.

Well, knowing Michael as I do, there may be mockage no matter what is asked. :D

However, you could rephrase it and say/ask,
Many of us have enjoyed the friendship amongst SG-1 teammates through the years. Will we see more of the 10-year friendship between the original team members, especially Sam and Daniel, portrayed in the up-coming movies?

*grin* That is a very good point.

Thinking of it, that's probably a better way to phrase it. Maybe he'll respond more favorably to it. Thanks. :)

It sounds fine to me. MS likes to snark since that is his stage persona but if you frame the question around friendship, you'll do fine. I don't think he likes it much when ship or slash questions are shoved down his throat. But friendship questions I can't se ehim having a problem with.

And yes, he panders toward Daniel/Vala a lot lately. I don't know if it's because it's popular with fans or because he has a crush on CB. I think it's a bit of both. But even so, I think if you do it politely, it'll be fine. He's close to AT and CJ, after all.

Thanks. :) Yeah, I've heard how much he likes to snark as part of his stage persona. But I guess it would be fine to ask a question pertaining to friendship.

I think you may be right about that. One of the forums I hang out at, I know a lot of people who went to that con were D/V shippers so I guess I could see him catering a bit to them, but I bet he may have a crush on CB too (I certainly thought so from some of his TV Guide blog entries). I can only wonder what went on at DragonCon, with him sitting between CB and Lexa.

But anyway, yeah I'd be totally polite about it. I'm pretty shy anyway so I'll probably sound a bit awkward asking it and I'd hate to overstep my bounds or anything like that.
