A point that bugs me...
... and it is totally nitpicking, so feel free to ignore me. I'm not making a big deal of it. :P
I'm still chugging through WH. :P At about page 425.
Last weekend I read through the scene where Avi, Elayne, and Min bond Rand. It is described how the weaves to include the girls as one entity is the same as was used in Avi and Elayne's first sibling ceremony. What bugged me is that we see numerous times that Nynaeve is able to see a weave once and replicated it perfectly, but no one else can. So the fact that Elayne saw the weave once, while under duress and not even focusing on it completely to then replicate it a short time later (days? less than a month at least) is a bit... of a stretch of plausibility for me.
We do see during the first sister ceremony that Elayne makes note and tucks it away, but, she isn't Nyn that this is enough. And we don't see that she has practiced this with a Wise One or Avi at all before hand, since they had no warning Rand was coming to visit.
It honestly makes me wonder if the whole reason for the first sister ceremony is so that RJ could give this tool to Elayne for this 3:1 bond. :( That and there seems to be no plot reason for either the first sistering or 3:1 bond. Far be it from me, who squeed at the shawl specifics in CoT, to nitpick details in a masterpiece that I could never hope to accomplish the life of. Just... yeah. :(
