Gli animali ed il ragazzo malatto.

Well, we’re still slowly getting unpacked…
Our neighbors have a 16-month-old baby who goes to bed fairly early at night, so we have to be fairly quiet in the evenings… which meant no hammering together our dresser. What should have been a one-night project done on Sunday or Monday wasn’t finished until this afternoon, because Sean stayed home from work (he’s sick again)… Aiya. Oh well, what can ya do? We don’t want to piss off our new neighbors in the first week of living here, right?

I’m sitting in my dining room writing a blog entry and surfing the internet! Do you know how amazing that is?!
At our old apartment, we weren’t able to get a wireless signal even 10 feet away from the router, and we couldn’t figure out why. We decided we’d see if it worked here, since the setup is a bit different, before we’d buy a new one. Well, when we set it up it wasn’t really working… so Sean, the Mr. Fix-It he is, decided to take it apart and see what was up. It turns out that the two antennas weren’t actually connected to anything in there! No wonder we couldn’t get a signal!
So he connected them, and plugged it back in, and… it works! We get a REALLY strong signal all through the apartment instead of a mediocre signal only in the office! Yay for wireless!

I also put up this spiffy new layout last night… I didn’t get a chance to write about it, though, before I went to bed. So… TADA. :P I still have some kinks to get out of it, but for the most part it’s pretty much finished.

Sean hasn’t been feeling very well lately, and it’s starting to get a little worrying… He went to the doctor today, who prescribed him some antibiotics and cough medicine, so hopefully he’ll start to feel better… He didn’t go to work today or yesterday… Probably for the best, since he’s laying in the chair right now sniffling and with a fever. :( But he’s watching Spongebob, and laughing at various little parts, so I think he’ll be okay.

Nehemiah and I took the kitties to be groomed today… We had originally wanted to go to PetCo since we normally go there for everything (because we haven’t been able to really find any other place) but they weren’t doing grooming today, so they referred us to Petsmart… We were able to walk right in, no appointment or anything, and the groomers were all super sweet. The store is brand new, and stocked to bursting with tons of great supplies! At PetCo, we’ve only been able to find 3.5-lb jugs of the kitty litter, the special crystals kind, and only TidyCat brand… but at Petsmart, they had 8-lb jugs, and four different brands!
AND they had tons of treats for the chinchilla, which was great since PetCo never had anything… And the cherry on top: they had the breeder’s top recommendation for chinchilla food as well!
Needless to say, we are officially Petsmart customers from here on out, and I have a feeling our babies will be very happy about that. I ended up getting some papaya treats, a new wooden ledge and lava stone chew blocks for Frankie, some little mousies for the kitties, a mat for their litterbox and a few other things… and I’ve already started a list of things to get next time I’m there!

Anyway… I think I’m going to go snuggle up with Sean so he’ll feel a bit better… More later - and soon, I promise!
