so we got back, hung out, saw more crazy kids. that night i only practiced my piece twice. note: i need more motivation.
i woke up at 5:30 to shower, blow dry my hair and get packed. physical and vocal warm ups always get me hyped up. it seems me, erica, lisa h, and the metamorphisis multiple are the few that get excited over singing at 7 in the morning.
the bus ride was one of my most sentimental moments ever.
it was me, jessi, erica, meredeith, and jim sitting in the 5 seat thing in the back. for those of you who aren't aware, i have this cd i refer to as my happy mix. it has basically a bunch of old songs that are uberly happy. jessi heard the mix and claimed it one of the best mixes ever.
so jessi and i are quietly singing bits and pieces of each song of the mix, and #3 is ain't no mountain high enough. and then meredeith loudly sings the next line of ain't no mountain high enough with her beautiful voice. then erica sings the line after that with her amazing voice. then they sing together. and within seconds everyone on the bus is singing together. it was one of those more amazing made-for-movie moments that everyone has to appreciate; one of those moments that makes life so grand. it was similiar to almost famous and tiny dancer, it just cures everything, and makes you live for the moment.
we get to the tournament, you see your token groves 4n6 kids. every round except 3rd round i got a high off preforming( 3rd round all i had to do was go to the bathroom). i didnt end up breaking to semi's. i knew i wouldn't, i wasn't polished, and there's some work that needs to be done. it ended up i was only 3 people away from semi's. i beat the 2 people in front of me in speaker points, and was only 1 rank away. i beat everyone in DI on our team. my 2nd round i beat a guy friend thats finaled and is pretty damn good. so even though i didn't semi, there was some good outcomes.
kids never do DI's on anastia, they're the worst. and kids never do cheerleading forensics peices. also the worst.
i met more groves 4n6, and 4n6 people in general at the tournment. there's something different about forensics kids, something i like more. i can't quite put my finger on what it is. all the same, the people i did meet were very cool.
i watched multiple semi's. i liked metamorphisis. ashley cannot be more correct about tinkerbell- total troll. at the last tournament we're going to rub her belly and make a wish.
erica and erin got 1st. as did courtney, (i think thats cause of the overalls). we had 2 duos final. we got 3rd, and i can't believe groves beat us. but none the less, we will improve. labond's on some "we need to get motivated" spree.
saturday night i went home, and went to bed at 9ish. and woke up at 10ish the next morning. 13 beautiful hours of sleep.
sunday my parents and i went to go see "starskey and hutch", it was funny. owen wilson and ben stiller together is a good combo. but you can't beat the royal tennenbaums.
my critiques.. well i'll give you my favorite comment(2nd round judge):
"interp is a professional presentation. jeans and a peeking mid-drift don't cut it. this didn't hurt your score or rank, but it didnt help either"
well sir, i was wearing CORDEROYS, and a long sleeve button down shirt with a v-neck sweater, and HEELS; and if that isn't professional enough for you, well i apologize. and the mid drift, its cause i raise my shoulders life a man. oy vey!
i still got a 3, but...
ashley made me the best mix ever. it has 8675309, and superfreak (not my usual music), its the forensics mix!
