Anniversay Part One

Hey-ho,

Well I have loads to update about!
Firstly flat hunting is complete! We found somewhere to call home. We move in on August 26th and we can’t wait. The place is really nice, it’s a smallish one bedroom close to Chichester town centre and it’s going to be our little love den. We’ve been buying bits and pieces, it all seems a little less daunting now we have put the deposit down and budgeted for what we need. Plus we’re both working full time now, and it’s ongoing until we move. Phew!
The 21st July was mine and Jake’s 1 year anniversary! We had a lovely amazing time. I am now going to write about the whole thing in quite excruciating detail, because I want it all documented so I can look back over it time and time again. Honestly, it was so amazing, it couldn’t have been better. We went to the Lythe Hill hotel & Spa (www.lythehill.co.uk) and it was amazing. We got a really great deal which included bed, breakfast and a three course dinner as well as full use of the Amara Spa.
When we arrived we checked in and went up to our room. The room was nice, with a lovely view and gorgeous en-suit bathroom. We sat on the bed and exchanged gifts. I bought him swimming shorts (he has none and we wanted to use the spa), his new brown leather cuff watch with square silver face, and a chunky silver ring. He got me Sarah Water’s new book ‘The Night Watch’ in hardback. I’ve wanted it for ages, but I was going to wait until it came out in paperback. It was a wonderfully thought out gift and it surprised and excited me. He also wrapped it up in home made wrapping paper, made out of the front covers of newspapers dated 21st July - from various years. It was such a thoughtful present. We then decided to get ready to go for a walk but of course got side tracked and made love instead. (Don’t worry Lena, more detail is to follow!)
Once we got dressed we went to explore the grounds and facilities of the hotel.
We went for a walk in the woodlands (the hotel is set in 20 acres of ground) then we played a bit of crocket as well as giant checkers (ok we only played that for a few minutes until I started to loose and got bored! Haha!) .Then we decided to go and check out the Spa.
We swam, and used the steam room and sauna. We also used something called a ‘temple shower’ which is basically ice cold shower jets surrounding you on all sides and a big wooden bucket of cold water being dumped on your head at the same time! It was torturous, but good fun and we took pictures of each other doing it, teehee! Then went back to the hotel room to get ready for dinner
Jake wore black shoes, black trousers, black shirt and a black and purple tie with his new leather cuff watch and silver ring. He looked hot. I wore black ballet pumps, a full floor-length layered skirt of turquoise silk and black detailed lace with a black v-neck capped sleeve t-shirt chunky silver bangles, big silver hoops and my tiffany necklace. I too looked damn hot. Mwahaa.
The restaurant was in the Tudor manor house. We sat outside over looking the lake against the backdrop of the Surrey hills and drank our aperitifs. I had Pimms and Jake had an Americano (Campari and Martini Russo). Oh my god, it was so strong! I sipped my Pimms and was finished before he’d got a quarter of the way through. We then had canapé’s brought out to us (smoked salmon, caviar & cream cheese blinis, chorizo, cherry tomato & mozzarella blini’s, cheese pastries, olives, cornichons and pickled onions). We chatted about how wonderful it was to be together somewhere we could totally relax and we looked through the menu making lots of ooooh and ahhhh sounds.

I will continue this later; I have to get on with some work now!!!
Love sweet love,
Jessie
