You may think it to be a bit cliche, but my new years resolution is to lose some pounds. Right now I'm 5'6" and weigh between 158 and 160 with about..... 0 muscle tone. I would like to be 135. I'm not a person that says they're going to do something and then flakes, either. I can't lie to myself. I have wanted to lose weight before but I knew it wasn't going to happen because I'm just too lazy. This time I'm going to give it my best.
To start, I'm training for a 5k. I started on the 7th and I walked/ran about 3 or 4 miles - I didn't really keep good track, it may have been more. I downloaded the couch to 5k app on my iPhone and I couldn't even get through the first training schedule. I got about half way through and couldn't do it anymore. I sat down feeling really bad about myself and was about to walk home but I decided to walk another lap. Well, I ended up walking another 4 and then did several more and just ran when I felt I could. I ended the day being very proud of myself for sticking it out, even though I couldn't get through the program I wanted to. I will do my own thing this week, and then start the program next week.
ANYWAY, the 5k I'm planning on doing is the Run for Your Lives - 5k obstacle course zombie run in Boston, MA. It's this awesome 5k where they have zombies chase you and try to get your flags (you get 3) before the finish line. If they get all of your flags you're considered "dead" and aren't eligible for prizes. check it out
here. They have them all over the U.S.
Out with the old, In with the new.
