Everyone always wants to see rings, so here it is. It was my mom's first ring from my dad:
And now the story. The setup was fantastic. He cooked a scrumptious dinner of chicken and feta salad with a side of calamari. After dinner, I asked him what he wanted to do tonight, and he told me he wanted me to try out this game he's been working on. I figured it was the game he is creating as a resume builder. So I sat down to play it, and he was kneeling on the ground beside me watching. As I played it, I was making lots of comments about how it was like Chip's Challenge (my favorite computer game ever), and asking when the storyline he's been telling me about on that resume building game was going to come in. As he pointed out later, the two level game was a replica of the first and third levels of Chips Challenge, but in 3D. When I beat the two levels, a beautiful note came up on the screen about how the game was a work in progress dedicated to me, and lots of other wonderful things, and that he wanted to work on our future together, too. That hadn't quite sunk in yet when he pulled out the ring box. At that moment it finally hit me what he was up to. For the next minute or two, I couldn't take my eyes off his eyes as he said some more beautiful things and I cried, being just completely overwhelmed with love, excitement, and joy. After some embracing, he got the chance to open the box and put the ring on my finger.
It was all just phenomenal. He had also bought some wine to celebrate. I'd never had it before, but it was really good. Moscato d'Latah from Latah Creek Winery here in the Valley. Definitely recommended. It's hardly like wine at all, but it is a very nice drink... and maybe went down a little fast. We finished off the bottle quickly, and as most of you know, I am usually a very slow drinker.
The third question people always ask is about dates. We've are definitely set on the year 2008, but haven't gotten much farther than that. More updates as it warrants.
Here is the journal I will be updating with specifically things related to becoming Jessica Howard:
