Bleach... You Should Be Able to Guess What This is About...

Ichigo and Orihime. Yeah, you knew it was coming. Don't know how. It's not like this is the only thing about Bleach that I ever talk about. I mean, I hardly mention them at all. Okay, enough sarcasm, my shoulder hurts and I'm propping up a hot water bottle thing on my shoulder that is making it hard to type. Anyways... just some things I wanted to ( Read more... )

pairing: ichigo & orihime, manga: bleach

Thank you! It's good to know I'm not the only one!! I kind of feel that making their relationship romantic would ... I don't know... cheapen their bond. It's weird.

And I agree! Ichigo always treated Orihime differently. Rukia and Tatsuki were just one of the guys (he even threw Rukia... LIKE A FOOTBALL! I can't imagine him doing that to Orihime). But then again, as you said, Orihime is very different from the two of them, and I don't think anyone could really be really mean to Orihime, for too long at least. Who wasn't completely evil.

But, now more than when I first started, I feel that if there is a couple involving Ichigo that may become canon, it's Ichigo and Orihime. But then again, while I try to be objective, it's hard sometimes! And other times, I think that Kubo Tite is just messing with me!!

And yes, Johnny Young Bosch is a sexy man. Or at least, he was the last time I checked. He played the Black Ranger on Power Rangers, the second one to play the role, I think. He was the one in the first movie. :) And yes, I agree, he has a sexy, sexy voice.

Thanks for the comment!

My pleasure. While reading your entry I was thinking: she feels the same as me!
I feel the same way in regards to the relationship between Ichigo and Rukia. I like the idea that their bond resembles one kinda like those which samurai shared which each other. It's difficult to explain. I just don't see any romantic feelings between them. One friend of mine is both an IchiHime and IchiRuki fan and I tried for her sake - well, not really just for her - to understand why so many people are fans of the latter one. But I just didn't feel anything. And I'm a huge shoujo anime/manga fan. So I should know about romantic feelings etc. But it just wasn't there.

YES! I dunno but something that kept comming up and that always cathed my attention - at the beginning - was that Ichigo called everybody by their first name except older people and Orihime. He treated her just different... mouh... it's really difficult to describe. Well... there are enough Orihime Haters in the Bleach fandom.

Kubo is messing with all our heads! It's like in those shounen series which really beautiful male characters and it is never said if they're het or gay... both parties are getting their fanservice but the mangaka never clears it up. Maybe it'll be the same for Bleach. I hope not!

Interesting. ö.ö
There are a few people I could listen to all day long and I think JYB is now one of them. *GGG*

Again: my pleasure. XD

I know what you mean about the samurai thing! And I'm a shoujo manga/anime fan as well. Not as much as I used to be, but I still enjoy a good (and sometimes not so good) shoujo series!!

When I first got into Bleach (A LONG TIME AGO, around when the Soul Society Arc first started in the manga and the anime began), I was kind of resigned to the fact that it was going to be Ichigo and Rukia in the end, naively because it was the most popular pairing (and the anime misrepresents their relationship at times). But I never could get into it, and when I began to just focus on the manga (as the anime upset me with it's treatment of Orihime and the Ichigo/Orihime dynamic, and I just like manga better), I just didn't see it there! The romance that is. She's his buddy, his partner.

I liked Ichigo and Orihime from the very start... DESPITE MYSELF. I don't get into a series only to be romantically disappointed in the end (I tend to place too much emphasis on character relationships, largely, but not limited to, romantic ones). I even tried to like Ishida and Orihime for a bit, but that didn't work either. I always gravitated towards Ichigo and Orihime, and then things started to happen, and Kubo started messing with my brain. Darn you, Kubo! Darn you for giving me hope!!

If it ends with him not getting with anyone, I won't be surprised, that's one thing I've made sure to resign myself to. But it would be great if there was a happy end. And I will selfishly end, for certain people.

Also, Checked out your journal main, as you seem like a cool person :3 I also love Ten & Rose, and Damon & Elena as well. Not a fan of Twilight in general, but I think I probably would have liked it better if it was Jacob and Bella, and not Edward. I do like Jasper and Alice, though. Also, the movie is made of sexy.

I'm excited, I haven't been able to use my Bleach Icons in a while!!

So, I finally found some time to answer you. I had so much to watch! The newest TVD Episode and the last two Bleach episodes. I'm so looking forward to next week because of those two series!

I started reading Bleach from the beginning. I was literally there when the first chapter got online and I thought: well, the main pairing pretty much sucks. @IchiRuki
But then Ichigos friends at school were introduced and right from their first encounter I thought: WHOA! Hold on! Who's that girl? She's kinda cute and would suit Ichigo way better than Rukia.
Later Renji was introduced and my main pairings were pretty much determined. But I told myself not to get too excited because IchiRuki would be endgame but after Orihime's goodbye scene I wasn't so sure about that anymore.
I tried to like IshiHime... but... no. I can picture Orihime besides many characters in Bleach but not Ishida. He may have feelings for her that go beyond freindship but that's pretty much it.

I would be happy with an ending in which he isn't together with anyone. I would most certainly be in fangirl heaven if there'd be a time skip into the future with... I dunno... a child playing in a living room and then we - the readers - get to see certain pictures from the past in which it is shown that Ichigo and Orihime are together. Something like that. ;) Maybe I've seen to many manga series ending like that? XD"

Ah, thanks for the compliment! ;) I'm also not really a fan of the Twilight series in general. While a friend of mine visited me, she got me to watch the first movie and then I wanted to see the second one. It's a love-hate relationship between me and Twilight... I hate what they did to the vampires and I just can't bring myself to understand Bella way of thinking. She wants to throw everything away - her family, her human friends, her life - just to be together with an undead guy, who sparkles in the sun?! Edward is a douche.
With Jacod Bella could live a "normal" human life. He can give her warmth wheras Edward is just dead cold. Duh...

FYI: Ten & Rose FOREVER! And Damon & Elena!

I tend to like (minimally) some other pairings that involve Orihime, just because I adore Orihime so much and like to think that EVERYONE ELSE DOES, TOO!! She's one of my favorite manga characters of all time, and is actually my favorite Bleach character (the top spot usually goes to a sexy man, so this is a first). But it'll always be Ichigo and Orihime for me. Always, always.

BUT, YOU WIN AT LIKING IT LONGER!! XD

I've never been into a series from the start. I usually hang back and wait to see the direction a series is going before getting into it. Sometimes, I even wait until it ends if I feel extra concerned about the direction it may go. It doesn't help that my interest in manga goes on and off, so I'll be away from it for a while (except for Bleach and (previously) Eyeshield 21), then come back and be like "Oh, what is this?"

I was so upset. I had The Vampire Diaries on save on my DVR, so it would tape the show when new episodes aired, but it didn't start to do so when the show started again! I blame a certain other someone in my house... but it could just be our DVR being evil. It does that sometimes. I'll have to download them or something, because I want to see. I loved the books back when I was in middle school (IN THE DARK AGES), and was both scared and excited when I heard about the show. I like what they're doing with it, all things considered. And I want to see what happens with the new books because I FINALLY WANT MY HAPPY END!! I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR... *counts on hands* FOURTEEN YEARS!! ... *ahem*... I love how Ian is playing Damon, he does it so well. You can see it sometimes, how vulnerable Damon really can be, and it makes my heart break. EVEN THOUGH HE IS A CRAZY JERKASS SOMETIMES!!

And... as for Twilight, the movies (or at least the first one, haven't seen New Moon yet) are better than the books. 1) Because of Sexy. 2) Because (in the first movie) the actual plot (that of the evil vampires) is carried throughout the story and NOT TACKED ON AT THE END!!

Jacob and Bella could have totally had a normal life. And could have actually had scientifically plausible babies. SORRY, STEPHANIE MEYER! THERE IS NO WAY THAT EDWARD AND BELLA COULD HAVE SEX!! ... IT'S SCIENCE!!

I just realized, if I was on a team, it would be Team Jacob. Huh. Curse you, Twilight! *shakes fist* Cuuuuurssseeeee yooooouuuuu!!

EDIT: Sorry my comments are so long. I don't know when to shut up.

It's getting a little bit creepy because Orihime is my favourite character from Bleach, too. And that's the same way I'm think: everyone liking her and all. I just can't understand how anyone could dislike her! That's why I'm all against Orihime bashing and bashing of all kinds in general. I never hate a character. In my case it's more about liking one character more or less than the other.

It was kinda random how I stumbled across Bleach and it involved a dark past of mine... I found Bleach on a hentai website! Don't ask me how but it was there!!! XD" At first I really thought the series would turn out to be a hentai... but WRONG! OH SO WRONG!!! XDDDDD *coughs*

That's how I start with shounen series. I also wait until the series progressed a little bit. It was a first for me with Bleach to really read it from the beginning. I was really excited when it was announced that the series would get an anime series. And then they cut IchiHime scenes... DAMN YOU!!!
With shoujo series it's different.

I knew from a friend of mine - who had read the books so far - that there was a book series... but I never got around to reading those. A few weeks ago I bought the newest book and read it in a couple of hours. It was surprisingly good. My friend told me that the books weren't that great of a read.
What's your happy end? o.ô
I just love Ian as Damon. He can change from one emotion to another in a second and it feels... real. And I could listen to his voice all day long. The german dub... well... kinda sucks. The voice actor has a too high voice... it doesn't sound right.

LOL! That's how I thought while watching the first two movies. My friend is on Team Edward... and we were talking about the film and I was like: well if you want me to choose a Team... Jacob. XD

No problem. XD
I tend to write long comments too. As you can see... XDDDDDDDDD

*has to use her new icons*

OH MY GOD! WE'RE THE SAME PERSON!! THIS IS LIKE THE TWILIGHT ZONE!!! XD!!

I do tend to dislike characters sometimes. I never really go so far as to hate (I may say hate sometimes, but I don't mean it), but there are definitely some characters that irritate me or that I can't stand. ... I'M LOOKING AT YOU, HARRY POTTER (at least in book five and six)!! Like the books, DON'T LIKE YOU!!!!

Bleach Anime: The anime is really unfair to Orihime, hence it makes me sad on the inside. They completely screwed with the dynamic between Orihime and Ichigo in the first bit, but at least they don't seem to be doing it so much anymore. From what I can tell. So that's good.

Vampire Diaries: I haven't read the new series because... well, I'm afraid to. I've heard some good and bad things about it, so... I'm afraid. If I don't like it, what will happen then?! This is something from my youth, it needs to stay sacred!! Right now, my plan is to wait and see how the books end, and if it does something specific... I will read them.

I didn't want to mention what my happy end was before, in case you didn't read the books, or didn't know, but I've always wanted Elena to end up with Damon. ALWAYS! I've grown to accept and like Stephan, and even, somewhat, like her relationship with him... but... no matter how much I try to tell myself that I shouldn't like the two of them together... I want Damon/Elena.

I do really like that they did (and may still be doing, not sure) the whole Matt/Caroline thing. I've ALWAYS liked the idea of those two together. I'm sad, though, that Meredith isn't in the books, because I liked her with Alaric. I know... Aunt Lady is supposed to be Aunt Judith/Meredith hybrid... but... Oh, this is embarrassing... I sometimes like the whole young teacher/legal student pairing. Almost legal works too (if they're seventeen, almost eighteen). It's so embarrassing. It doesn't work for girl teacher and boy student, though. That just urks me. I think it stems from my crush on my twelfth grade science teacher. He was sexy. But... I hate that I like that!! I shouldn't. It's wrong. But makes for good tension in a relationship.

Twilight: And if we were choosing teams for sexy, I would choose Team Jasper!! JASPER OF SEXY TEAM!!
