Just to keep a record here:
Back to the vet today, after a weekend of puking, including bloody puke this morning. Yikes. Things had been going so well! Almost no puke since the last steroid shot and I've been giving him steroid pills. But this weekend was brutal. And of course he keeps puking on my bed, which is so gross, but I don't want to wash my duvet cover until I'm sure we'll have some non-puking days.
So he's back down to 9.6 lbs, and had a fever. So maybe it's a virus! Also maybe an ulcer, either of which would be, if not caused, then made more likely by the steroids, which he's on to treat the general intestinal problem which may or may not be cancer. So the doctor didn't want to be aggressive in treating him today, which I agree with in theory, but means we might be back to the vet tomorrow. Which is 30+ minutes on the subway and kind of a pain in the ass! But whatever, poor boo. So today he got some sub-q fluids and more B12 and basically a pepcid shot. I wonder about the B12, because when he got the steroid shots before, he also got B12, but I've just been giving him the steroids alone since.
I feel like all of this would be easier if he could just speak English! Like, I should know that peeing on the floor (by my shoes, thanks so much) means he feels bad, because I'm pretty sure that started before the puking, but not by more than a day.
So we got home and he spent some time in the closet, but now he's back out with me, and has eaten the little bit of food I put out, so we'll see.
