I've never really been one for Thanksgiving, or any kind of holiday for that matter. I mean, once you go through the routines involved in tradition long enough, they start to lose their meaning, and you're stuck celebrating them with no clue why. But I hate Scrooging up the holidays for everyone, so I just go with it. Plus, sometimes people give you good stuff, can't go wrong with that. Anyway, I'm going back home tonight to cut some turkey with my folks the next day. They don't like it when I smoke there, so I'm on gum for about two days. Good luck, I'm wishing myself, knowing I might sneak out for a puff or two.
That Romy and Michele flick with Heiglpuff was on television earlier today, and it got me wishing I remembered much of the 80s. I grew up in that decade, but you know you hardly recall much of what you experience for about the first thirteen years of your life, 'cause that's when you have most fun. Sure, I remembered the music videos on MTV and a lot of the classic rock on the radio. I remember the girls with big hair and leg warmers, the guys with Flock of Seagulls haircuts, neons. The Goonies, those were cool. At least those are things that my mind went back to as I heard "Opposites Attract" for the first time in forever. Those Romy and Michele movies have awesome soundtracks. Nothing that beats that of Bring it On for sure, but it's somewhere up there.
Ah, man. I'm getting skinny. And I need to shave. This post was really something whipped together as a result of Sheryl Crow's nudging and I bruise like a peach.
