The
countdown is officially on for our upcoming move. At this point in my
life, packing has become almost robotic. I realized that I have moved
to 21 new locations in my life (28yrs). I guess one more move isn't
going to hurt things.

and I spent a long weekend in Galveston with friends and had a great
time. Neither of us had ever been there before, and I have to say that
I was pleasantly surprised. The beach wasn't beautiful exactly, but the
water was nice, the pool was cold and the drinks were cheap. We spent a
lot of afternoons playing Phase 10 (I won in the end..it took us 3
days to finish with 8 people playing), and in the evenings we explored
Kemah (a neighboring city with rides and fireworks) and downtown
Galveston. I learned more about the horrible hurricane of 1900 that
destroyed most of town. It's incredible to think about how many people
died - it's still the worst natural disaster in US history.
