Long time no entry. But then, given that I've not spent more than three nights in any one place for two weeks, hopefully you'll forgive me. To help catch you all up, the travels of Jess in one handy list:
Thursday 22nd: Freiburg -> Strasbourg (Thursday at Marie's, Friday out with Damien and Chris)
Saturday 24th: Strasbourg -> Saverne, for Stéph's birthday.
Monday 26th: Saverne -> Manchester, via Nancy, Paris and London.
Tuesday 27th: Evening in London
Friday 30th: Manchester -> Oxford.
Tired yet? I know I am. The worst bit, exhaustion wise, has probably been these past couple of days - I've been all full of a cold too, and trying to pack and finish essay at the same time is bound to have lead to errors in both activities. Tuesday evening was probably what really finished me off: I went to London to a book launch by Eric-Emmanuel Schmitt, the guy I'm writing my extended essay about. Which, my-energy-wise, was a disasterous decision, but was also too good an opportunity to pass up. And it was SO worth going. It was great listening to him talking about the philosophy behind his books, and he talks so lucidly and clearly too. One of those people who you feel like he's saying everything that's in your head, but that you couldn't quite put in real words. Then afterwards he was signing books - I'd bought what I had of his just in case - and I told him I'd just finished writing about him, and he seemed very flattered. *glee*
So am now back at uni, and my room is very nice - I hadn't seen it before I chose it, so I'm pleased it's good. The only slight problem is that the desk is a bit low, so I might have to swipe a different desk chair, but that's ok. My parents arrive with my stuff tomorrow, so once I've got it all looking good I shall post photos. I'm back now coz my friends all graduate today, so I've seen them all dressed up looking silly. Also got to say hi to Andy's mum and dad and brother, which was nice :)
