how can i not be bittersweetly longing for the past after finding my most prized possession from the 8th grade? when talking about memories, this is the mother of all memoirs. to let you all know what cool kids miss angela and i were in the 8th grade, here's an idea...
*the assignment was: write a 10 page story in good ol spanish about a puppy named bombon.
*the result: a complete translation of The Puppy Who Lost His Way, by Chrissy Taylor. we copied every blessed word given in Billy Madison and translated it on altavista.com. them damn illustrations took us TWO HOURS~ after all, we couldnt put the book to shame. but apparently, it wasnt up to the teacher's standards~ we received a 40 on one part and a 60 on another...
this book is easily the funniest shit and i'm so glad i just found it. we are TRUE Billy Madison fans~ had that shit memorized completely by 6th grade. kids used to call us "different", but we knew where cool was at. i hope that my family puts this book on display at my funeral, because it brings back all those good times. and you can't possibly understand me until you've seen Billy Madison, because as SPK and Meaghan know, we LIVE Billy Madison. if there were one thing i could bring back from those junior high years, it would be all the good times that came from that simple Adam Sandler masterpiece.
