Wow, well, it's been a fun couple of days. I got my lab report back on Friday - 82%! Very relieved. It topped off a good afternoon of lectures about many interesting organic methods of bonding...I'm so relieved that I didn't get a poor mark. It also somehow makes me feel much more confident about monday's lab session!
For some reason, I decided that it would be a fantastic idea to go to Aikido marshal arts last night. I got a flyer at Fresher's fair and thought that since it was free, I might as well go along. I managed to drag Byron along with me, and Kat was going to come but changed her mind last minute. I don't think I've had such a harsh workout in such a long time! Kicks, punches, falling over, stabbing with knives, dodging...I thought marshal arts were meant to be based on peace!! Consequently, my legs are absolutely killing me today...so of course, my next idea was to join Kat for a run over the downs.
One word: ouch.
It's gorgeous behind our residence, and I never knew! We walked over this huge hill - we could see for miles either side, all the fields and meadows - and then down the other side, we ran around a small track in a little village with a church and lots of open space. It was absolutely beautiful. We thought that we'd go for an hour or so, and by the time we got back, we were both knackered - but of course feeling that we had done our reasonable amount of exercise for the weekend. Next week we're thinking of going to boxercise...and...maybe yoga...
We also managed to get to Sainsbury's and back on the bus today - arrgh. Three pounds return, we probably could have got a taxi for that much each. I bought both a bottle of sambuca and hair due...I blame that for it being such a costly shop. I'm dying my hair a slightly darker shade of blonde for winter. Premature? Well, we keep having amazingly sunny days, but then right afterwards it pours with rain...unpredictable Brighton!
Somehow I feel like I should be going to lectures today and tomorrow, because I haven't been here at a weekend yet, so all my days are associated with working. I'm trying to get round to copying up lecture notes into a nice, new, neat form...meh maybe tomorrow!
