Wheel of Fortune

Apr 01, 2013 00:06

Even when it seems as though the odds are against you, you really have no choice but to keep moving. That's the beautiful thing about life: if you are living, you will persevere. Without even really having to try. Like grass growing out of a crack in the pavement.

When paving roads, we strip the soil down and pour concrete without any regard for the plant life we displace, poison, and block from the sun. You'd think that there would be no hope...but life waits. Over time a crack appears, and the tiniest bit of sunlight that manages to touch the soil beneath stimulates the dormant plant life to once again grow and reach for the sun. Are we really that different than the other living things in our environment? No we're not. No matter how dark things get, no matter how we tell ourselves that there is no longer any hope to live or grow or thrive, where there is life there is hope. Sooner or later the tiniest bit of sunshine is sure to trickle through. <3

Life is a balance of perseverance and probability. So many things are left to chance, but through it all, we persist. We are all subject to the wheel of fortune, yet life continues. Because that's what it does.

We're waiting to find out if we got a house that we really like, and I'm waiting to see what jobs turn up. I want us all to be happier and I want us all to thrive. That doesn't mean things will go my way, but where ever the cards may land, I will be fine. While there is life left in me to live, I will accept the slings and lashes of chosen and random fortune, and I will persevere.

Even if things appear dark. Where ever there is life, there is joy. And hope.
