Jermz steps up his cooking skill

Today (Saturday) I went to my grandma's house in the morning so that she could teach me how to make chinese "tamales." I don't know their real name, but that's pretty much what they are. They're made from sweet rice with mung beans, salted pork and chinese sausage wrapped in bamboo leaves and boiled for several hours. Grandma was telling me that only the Canton "tamales" are made the way she makes them and she seems so proud of that style of cooking. She does have good reason to be proud, these kind of "tamales" are the best I've had, amongst all different styles of tamales. Now I'm one more step closer to learning all of my grandma's recipes! There are still lots more to learn like how to make chasiu bau, and shumai.
