Closing time....

Actually in a pretty good mood now, so there will be no emo-ness in this post.
So a lot has happened in the last week or so, which definitely makes me happy.
Had a good time at Senior Banquet, but it wasn't quite as emotional as I was hoping for. That might sound weird, but I always envisioned everybody bawling during the senior slideshow. I guess we can blame the DJ for not playing "Graduation song" or sappy music like that. O well. Major props to Senior Planning though, as they did a great job with it. And I am excited about having Maddy Alb as our speaker, though I am still kicking myself for not guessing her. Had all the clues right in front of me too. I DID guess Janet Reno, and they are pretty similar, so I will give myself half-credit on that.

Got my tux on friday, though I must regretfully inform you that I will not be rocking the top hat and cane at prom as I had hoped. Hehe.

Had a weekend of interesting experiences too.
On saturday I had to go all the way out to Silver Spring to help at a silent auction at an elementary school, in order to get my NHS hours, which I had none of prior to the event. I wouldn't say the place was in a bad area, but it def. was much different than home. The school was made up primarily of hispanic/african american kids, which was sorta refreshing considering how few kids of those races we have at our school. Also got to help make cotton candy, which was fun, tho I probably have at least 20 cavities from it. Had to do some quality control...

Sunday was deeefinitely an interesting day. For a sociology extra credit project we had to pair up with someone and experience part of their culture, and then write a paper about it. Paired up with Emily K, and, for the first time in my life, got my church on. The main room (I don't know the name for it) was absolutely beautiful, and the people there were sooo nice! The amazing thing was that I really didn't feel uncomfortable at all there, and actually kinda felt like I was a part of it. I am really glad I went though because after that I am positive that I will think twice the next time I am tempted to make some Jesus joke or whatever we jews do. I guess its hard to understand and be tolerant of someone's culture until you really experience it.
Aright, its a beautiful day and I am sitting inside, so I think its time to hit the links.
