baseball- some dad making commentary behind the backstop, the stinging foul ball vibration, but then making contact on the sweet part of the bat, the first base coach waving enthusiastically, outrunning the throw to first, stealing second and then stealing third, the surly third base coach eating a hot dog and warning to "stay on that base until i tell you to run," sliding home and waiting for the ump's call, spitting sunflower seeds, the blinding sun, rain delays, diving catches, 2468 who do we appreciate, rally chants, granola bars and rice crispy squares, capri suns, grass stains, horribly-fitting batting helmets, perfectly-fitting and weathered gloves, "bring it in team."
