france.... and the yellow vests are still at it! my heating bill is up to 1400 euros cuz the edf has an odd way of making calculations.....
well not surprising i have to say -- as when i moved into the house there was one floor heater and a few low watt light bulbs. i was on a rate as though no one was living in the house so the bills were 15 euro per month. they said it would take a year to estimate my usage and as I wasn't here full year round --
non-the-less after agreeing to direct debit from my carte bancaire they were greedy and sent my account into negative when i was not in the country. that should be illegal especially when after numerous telephone comms was told i was paid up to date and my monthly was 15 euro. suddenly after they took hundreds of euros -- then went back to 15 euros per month -- and i removed the direct debit due to the inconsistent and uninformed debits -- they sent a bill for 1000 euro. it makes no sense. and i know there is no way i owe that much when i was told a year ago that i was up to date on the bills.
that is my only complaint about france presently. i might add however that for three years the bill for the house tax was being sent to a completely unrecognisable address in india and had to pay the back tax for three years as my banc account was seized. i was wondering why i hadnt been getting the bills. but its fixed now.
And Ive just returned from america with a long stay visa.
