Chocolate Recs!

May 12, 2006 21:16

Attention all chocoholics, of both the Lost and Pirates of the Caribbean persuasion! I am about to offer up recommendations for two of the best chocolate bars in the whole entire 'verse, and I hope you will pay attention. I mean, really, have I ever steered you wrong?

Both are by Vosges, who makes several different, and delicious, varieties, but ( Read more... )

*licks James*

Mmmmm. Somehow when he's all disheveled he's even more hot and yummy. I mean, he was hot before, but dayum.

Speaking of hot and yummy--I love that there's a Black Pearl Bar. I don't really care for sesame, though. The Red Fire Bar sounds delicious. Pepper and chocolate are actually a really wonderful combination. You've seen Chocolat, right? Remember how Vianne puts chile powder in her hot chocolate? I've tried that, and it is GOOD.

*licks James* LOL! (see Allie's icon just below) But honestly, could he be any more...*thud*? I stare at the larger version of that picture often, drawn in by those eyes...

Makes me want to finish that Norrington fic with hints of Elizabeth that I started back in the winter. The one with him riding on the beach at night... Did you read that?

You've seen Chocolat, right? Only a million times! Love that movie - the music is fantastic, isn't it? Oh, and that guy who plays the river pirate-he wasn't so bad!

You would love the Red Fire Bar, if you liked Vianne's hot chocolate. It melts on your tongue and slides down your throat chocolaty, but leaves that lingering ah ha! of the chilies.

If you get the chance, I would try the Black Pearl Bar too. I don't think the sesame will bother you at all, for the black sesame taste is different from our regular light ones, and puts me more in mind of poppy seed, perhaps.

Hope you can get your hands on these, and others by the same chocolatier. I doubt you will be disappointed!

I remember that story! You should finish it.

*stares some more* He really does have lovely eyes, doesn't he. And lovely everything else. I need to write more James fic.

And yeah, Chocolat's river rat is pretty easy on the eyes himself. Ha, "pretty" being the operative term. If I had to pick any of the Johnny Depp characters to keep for myself, Roux might just be the one. (I love Jack, but I wouldn't want to be the one to try to keep him.) He can take the squeak out of my door any day. So to speak. Because he plays the guitar (that movie's score, by the way, gives me chills, it's so beautiful) and dances. *swoon*

Now I have a craving for that movie. And chocolate.

You had me at Mexican ancho and chipotle chili peppers. But, are they sweet?

They are perfect, in the way that all dark chocolates are. Not sweet like a Mounds bar, but just the right touch of sweetness, with that faint memory of chili-hot just as the taste of the chocolate fades. *sigh* An absolute and surprising delight for the palate!

Much could be said for your icon there, Missy!!!

I don't think I can get either of them here, more's the pity, but I'll check, just in case. And really, that picture... looking at it I want, more than ever, to shake Liz and ask what on earth she's doing with Will ;-)

You really do need to relocate, you know! But, perhaps there would be some place which deals with exotic chocolates?

As to the yummy-ness of James, and the questionable romantic tastes of Elizabeth - here! here! What in blue blazes is that girl thinking?

Seriously. The girl could have had Johnny Depp OR Jack Davenport, and she goes and picks Orlando Bloom? WTF? I mean, I know there's some as would make the same choice, but I really can't pretend to understand it.
