Koki had everything planned out, done to the last minuscule detail.
He made reservations at a fancy Italian restaurant, even though he wasn’t a big fan himself, Jin said the first date should be perfect; “and what’s more perfect than fancy Italian dining?” Jin asked with a smile, shoving the phone book into Koki’s hands.
Koki made the reservation, a party of two for Tanaka. He also called the floral shop near Koyama’s house and requested that a bouquet of roses be ready an hour prior to their date, so they would be nice and fresh.
After grabbing the flowers, Koki would pick up Koyama and wow him with his gentlemanly traits, opening doors and pulling out his chair at the restaurant. He’d be kind and at the end of the wonderful evening, Koki would give Koyama the perfect kiss.
If only it had gone that well.
Koki forgot his wallet as he got to the floral shop, and had to drive all the way back home to get it. By then, they only had ten minutes to get to the Italian restaurant, so Koki had to forget the flowers and drive straight towards Koyama’s. Once he picked up the other and rushed them into his car, it was already too late and they missed their reservation. Disappointed, Koki took them to a family restaurant and forgot to pull out Koyama’s chair, and he even spilled his drink on the other due to his nerves.
All in all, things were going pretty terribly, until Koyama leaned across the table and gently pecked his lips, blushing as he said, “I’m really glad I’m here with you.”
Koki grinned, “Same here,” and the two happily ate their ramen meal, enjoying each other’s company on the nice, simple date.
