"Age of Opportunity: A Biblical guide to parenting teens" sounds like an inspiring read and even non-Christians need all the help they can get with that! I love your reasons for not travelling, especially lack of passport! Where you grew up sounds so idyllic, what a shame the people let it down. Thank goodness your family were supportive and loving. And you have a lot of scars! You need your own Cas at hand to heal you!
Yeah, that's not even counting the surgery scars! Or the one across the base of my throat where it was cut in fifth grade.
You've read now my tribute to my father. THAT man in THAT place -- I have wonderful memories that shine brightly among the crap that was my school experiences. Also, my fourth-fifth grade teacher was a shining beacon and we're still in touch.
The book was a inspiring read, but as with most books based Biblically there are some ways that he uses Scripture that doesn't quite mesh with the way I read things that sometimes made me go "now hold on here...." :D
