My mother is visiting for a couple of days. This inevitably involved the deeply embarrassing "mother cleaning the kitchen" - (a) I'm dashed well 29 and shouldn't need my mother to clean the kitchen and (b) it wasn't my sodding mess in the first place which is why I hadn't cleaned already. My housemates are a great bunch of lads - and Ursula, who may object to being a lad - but cleanliness of kitchen is not their finest attribute, and I cannot and will not keep on top of it alone.Anyway.
Food and drink photography is notably hard. This is my excuse for today's photos
The sausages are beef and horseradish; the mash is garlic and sweet potato as well as spud; the gravy is more leek and spring onion than gravy. It tasted a lot better than it looks in this picture.
I tried photographing the wine as well and it was even more full of fail. The wine was a present from Iain - as mentioned in the post on 31st December, I believe - to thank me for helping him move house, and the glasses a much-treasured Birthday present from
bookwormsarah some years ago. The wine tasted better than it looks - it was very nice indeed - and the glasses are prettier than I have conveyed them as being, too.
More work required on the food-photography front.
