Fiction nugget
Okay, I forced myself to read a scene from last year's novel to get an idea for a short story. And I did. Here are a few notes:
Follow Aaron around the club scene for a bit until he runs into the new drug. Be sure the remember the girl with the pearl earrings.
I think this vignette has enough of an arc to make a decent short. Now I just have to try to write it.
And Aaron needs a last name, probably. At least I remembered what he looks like once I re-read his scene in the novel.
Another thing to ponder: Does Aaron meet Luis in this story? If not, who? I need to scan the novel to see who Luis's buddies are. I forget.
But this is good. It's an actual nugget.
