Europe Day 21: Rome and the Vatican
Went to the Spanish Steps in part cuz the AmEx office is there and I needed some cash, also to see the Spanish Steps. Decided that the steps are overrated and looked better in the postcards.
Met up with the tour group near the Vatican. Went through the city. The museum is amazing, huge number of sculptures and tapestries. Overwhelming and sometimes crowded with stuff. But worth the visit.
Saw the Sistine Chapel. Lots of guards intoning, No Photos, Quiet Please. Very beautiful.
St. Peter's Basilica was also nothing short of amazing. Though a bit creepy with one of the recent pope's body sitting in a glass case incased in wax (the body, not the case).
Went to Travestere for dinner. Amazing yummy decent priced meal.
