Fingers twitch slowly reaching up towards the sky
Heart softens in beat feeling ashamed
This was all done before time after time the same result

Wanting to belong in this world
Hoping this time, this endless reach will suddenly take hold of anything
Tears flow down and moisten the cheeks
Heart beats strong and will the soul to keep on reaching
Even in the big sky everything out of reach--strive reach on
Endless times empty inside extending your hand to the sky
Tears start to burn your chest ends up tight --still strive on
Bruised, broken, hopelessly looking for anything
Fingers start to get warm from the glow of the sun
Reach endlessly reaching for anything
One day you will hold on to what is yours
