it could have been worse....

The flooding was so bad up here they sent the garbage trucks around two days early to start the clean up...which is good because I couldnt see my car on the street behind all the boxes and stuff i had to throw out...

It could have been worse. I had to get rid of alot of stuff...nothing that was totally heartbreaking...but i lost a bunch of photos from one of the independent studies i did (the negatives are fine though), my freshmen yearbook from highschool, lots of paper and drawings, a couple of paintings from school, which i really didnt care that much about. The only major thing we had to replace so far was the power supply for my desktop monitor. Tim still has a couple of boxes to go through of things that got wet and sadly he lost his copy of the Claudia Christian Playboy (only bab5 fans will understand that loss). Otherwise the major purging is done.

I can't seem to get the floors clean in the hallway and the laundry room -- they have been mopped 4 or 5 times now and still there is this chalky residue on the floor.

All of this has motivated me to do a thorough reorganization of the downstairs so that there isnt much of anything on the floors and if its on the floor its on top of something so it is raised up. It also gave me the impetus to get rid of alot of stuff i was keeping for no apparent reason.

Next on an unrelated project scale is a massive reorganization of our collective wardrobes. We have way too much clothing...

And for those who inquired about the New Kids on the Block book i found in a box... the explanation Tim gave was that a co-worker of his at CDnow gave it to him as a joke after he made a roof on his cubicle out of a new kids on the block sheet.

fucked up, house, flooding
