1. woke up at 6:15am because i can't sleep thru storms.
2. fed cats around 6:30
3. watched the news to see how the weather would be for the Curiosa Festival and laid down on the futon.
4. Turned news off at 7:00am and noticed the cats meowing worried and which point i noticed water where it should not be, that is seeping towards the futon downstairs.
5. run up stairs wake up tim shouting "get up there is water coming in everywhre" we decide to try and find the source of the water at this point the hallway, bathroom and laundry room are flooding... Then we opened the inside door to the garage where we were greeted by about a foot of water that promptly flooded the entire downstairs area of the house. and if you have been to our house you know what this entails.
6. the reason for the flooding was the fact that both ours and our neighbors drains in front ofthe garage door was clogged which caused the water to accumulate. so at 7am while its lightening all over the place there we were standing in a foot of water outside trying to unclog the drains. i think my neighbors mmight be away because we pounded on their door and no answer and neither of her cars are around. Thank g-d we didnt sleep until noon cause we would've had at least a foot if not more of water thruout the entire basement.
7. i got a nifty shock while trying to rescue a computer that was still plugged in and tim cut his finger pretty badly.
8. the water in the main room downstairs has dried out... the hallway, bathroom, my art storage area, storage closet and laundry room are quite wet and beholding quite a few boxes of casualties.
9. needless to say we will attempt to make it to the curiosa show as i dont want to flush 140 bucks down the toilet...that is if the rest of the flood waters have subsided...main street in manayunk is underwater, part of leverington avenue caved in...the belmont exit to 76 was flooded like i have never seen it and as i can imagine right now the only thing one could do on kelly drive is water ski.
