It is great spending a US holiday in a foreign country that does not celebrate said holiday. Tim's friend Alex hopped the train to Bristol from London before heading off to Belgium.
Castle CombeWe began the day with a trip to Castle Combe, which ironically has no castles. It is a traditional English village and very small. According to Tim's dad, it is where the original Dr. Doolittle was filmed during th 1960s. We walked around for a bit and then headed onto Portishead.
PortisheadPortishead is not only famous for the band of the same name, but it has the 2nd fastest high tide in the world, next to the Bay of Fundi in Newfoundland, which is 56 feet and Portishead is 44 feet. We walked along the cliffs and took some pictures. Since, our adventures so far had only taken a couple hours, we decided to go to
Blaise Castle, which is a faux castle built by some eccentric millionaire guy. We climbed the path through the woods that leads to the castle, not very impressive, but okay.
We had Tim's pre-birthday dinner and then headed downtown to O'Neills.
In other non-related news, Tim got some good news from back home, regarding the lawsuit against him by the former employers, via a press release regarding the forensic accounting on the former employers company.
Stay tuned for the weekend in London....
