What do you get a man who buys everything he wants except the things you can't afford either?
In an interesting turn of events, I called my dad last night to chat while waiting for my English class to start and he asked me if I was doing anything the weekend before Halloween because he wants me to come and visit for his fiftieth birthday. I told him I didn't think so, but I'd have to check and make absolutely sure the Halloween party wasn't going to be then (which I didn't think it would, since it seems like most of club is going to YaoiCon that weekend, but I wanted to make sure because this is important, dammit).
It's a good thing I didn't register for YaoiCon, 'cause that would be $50 down the drain. My dad's sister, her husband, and their children are going to be coming, too. I haven't seen them in...about a third of my life, actually. I missed them, so it'll be nice to see them again. My dad's actually going to see if they can stop at the airport here and pick me up when they fly my uncle's plane down. We'll see how that turns out. Part of me thinks "Yes, awesome. Plane!" and the rest of me goes ">_> Stuck in small space for an hour with...children.". lol I'm sure I'll be able to handle it.
Oh, and before I forget, the gate came down on Friday night. I'd guessed "by Saturday morning", so I guess I was pretty close? :\ I was hoping it would stay up and things would get quieter. I actually saw a cop patrolling in front of our apartments last night, though.
...if only they would patrol there WHEN IT WOULD BE USEFUL. AKA THURSDAY AND FRIDAY NIGHTS. *facepalm*
