Back home in Chicago
I'm at home in Chicago for a few days, but I'll be back to LA in time for Tuesday's show, so I'll see you all there. Since I can't sing professionally while under contract with AI, I might as well be in LA living with Kimberley and taking care of her cats than in Chicago living with my mom. I might see about getting a voice coach in LA. I've heard that sometimes record company scouts have come to AI concerts to hear the finalists in person, to see if any are worth signing.
I felt a little better about everything after Ryan's show on Thursday. He and Barry and all the crew and the fans were all so nice to me, and everyone seemed genuinely shocked that I was the one voted off. Barry seemed really sincere in his praise and encouragement, and I was blown away when he asked me to sing a duet with him. That's definitely the high point of my career now. The Finalists' Soul Collection CD drops on Tuesday, but I don't think even that will compare. Thank you so much, Barry, for everything you taught me, and for helping me stay sane and hopeful on Thursday!
